Legal documents for the FormSnap Android app
Last updated: 5 September 2026
FormSnap fills in paper forms. To do that it holds some of the most personal information you have: your name, your date of birth, your address, your signature, and photographs of documents that may concern your health. This page says plainly what happens to all of it.
Everything stays on your phone, except one thing you have to switch on yourself. There is no account, and we do not have a server that stores your forms.
Everything below lives in FormSnap’s private storage on your device. No other app can read it. We cannot read it.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Profiles: names, dates of birth, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, and any other detail you add | So a form can be filled without typing it all again |
| Scanned pages and imported PDFs | So you can fill the form and export it |
| Values you typed into a form | So the same question on a later form can be answered with a tap |
| Signatures you draw | So you can sign again without redrawing |
| Exported PDFs | So you can share or print them |
Your profiles are included in Android’s own encrypted device backup, so they survive moving to a new phone. Scanned pages, signatures and exported PDFs are deliberately excluded from that backup.
FormSnap can read a page in two ways.
On your phone. The default. Text recognition and blank detection run entirely on the device. Nothing is uploaded. This works with no internet connection.
With AI. Only when you tap “Read with AI” on a particular form. That page’s image is sent to Google’s Gemini service, which returns the list of blanks it found. You choose this per form, it is never automatic, and the app tells you on screen when it is about to happen. Google processes the image to answer the request. We do not keep a copy, and the page is not used to train anything by us.
If you never tap that button, no image of any document ever leaves your device.
You can build a profile by photographing an identity card. The card is read for your name, date of birth and address, and the photograph is deleted from the device as soon as those details are extracted. Government identifier numbers such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport or licence numbers are deliberately not read and never stored, even when they are printed on the card you scanned.
Purchases are handled by Google Play. FormSnap never sees your card details. The app records only whether this device has bought Pro and how many AI pages remain.
Nothing. There is no analytics in the released app, no advertising, no identifiers collected, and no profile built about you. Crash reports, when enabled, contain only technical information about a failure and never the contents of your forms or profiles.
Settings has a control that deletes every scanned form and exported PDF. Uninstalling FormSnap removes everything else, including your profiles and saved signatures. Because none of it is on a server, there is nothing left behind for us to delete.
FormSnap is for adults doing paperwork, including paperwork about their children. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what happens to your information, the app will say so before the change takes effect.
